Itinerary
Día 1
DAY OF ARRIVAL TO QUITO
- Meet with your leader and group at 6:00 pm.
- Welcome to Quito! The largest and best preserved colonial city in America - declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1978.
- The city is considered the Cultural Capital of South America and is located on the equator in a valley on the slopes of the Pichincha volcano.
- Depending on your arrival time, you can spend the day exploring Quito's old town and surroundings. ADVENTURE TRAVEL can help you organize a day trip (request in advance).
- In the evening, one of our travel leaders will meet you in the hotel lobby for a welcome briefing at 18:00. At this time, we will discuss the details and questions you may have regarding the adventure. Our first day is an acclimatization and information day.

Día 2
OTAVALO MARKET
- We leave Quito early and drive north through the majestic Andes.
- On our way we will stop at a viewpoint to admire the Imbabura Volcano and San Pablo Lake. Once in Otavalo, you will have enough time to stroll through the narrow cobbled streets, full of indigenous people from Otavalo wearing the traditional blue ponchos, white pants and long braids.
- Learn all about their daily activities, typical food and mother tongue. Explore its famous handicraft market, with its wonderful alpaca textiles, blankets and rugs, knitwear, native paintings, ceramics, jewelry, tapestries and more at bargain prices.
- Then, we will go to Peguche, a small town located in the heart of the Andes, where you will live an unforgettable cultural experience, immersing yourself in the true spirit of the South American highlands. You will taste a traditional delicious lunch in which the locals have used the fresh products harvested the same day from the surrounding organic fields to share precious moments of conviviality with you.
- Later we will arrive at the beautiful and historic Pinsaqui farm where we will spend the night. Enjoy a typical Andean cocktail as a welcome, and learn about the history of this

Día 3
HUMMINGBIRD SANCTUARY
- Early in the morning, we will drive along a curvy panoramic road towards the Amazon Rainforest; As we descend from an altitude of 3000m to 500m (9843ft to 1640ft), you will observe how the landscape and vegetation change dramatically between climates. Our first stop will be the Guango reserve (entrance fee not included), where we will have the unique opportunity to see many different species of hummingbirds in the wild. These little creatures are famous for their incredible ability to flap their wings quickly, as well as for their brilliant colors.
- Later, we also stopped at the "Guacamayos-Guacamayos Lookout", located between Antisana and Sumaco National Reserves (low elevation cloud forest), to observe the magic cloud cover that covers the Amazon rainforest, until we finally reached the Arajuno River, where a motorized canoe will take us 20 minutes upriver to the Eco Presentar.

Día 4
AMAZON HIKE AND KICHWA COMMUNITY
- In the morning, we will hike to explore the rainforest and have an interpretation from our guide and learn about medicinal plants and look for wildlife. Later, we will enjoy a cultural activity where an Amazonian Kichwa community will receive us and we will learn about their way of life and the interaction they have with the forest. Appreciate the skills of indigenous women in artisan manufacturing. pottery (ceramics).

Día 5
THE WATERFALLS WAY - BATHROOMS OUTDOOR VILLAGE
- After breakfast, we will arrive at Río Verde, located in the UNESCO World Heritage. site, Sangay National Park.
- Here, we will walk to the second highest waterfall. in Ecuador, the Pailon del Diablo, where the water cascades over the rocks and mesmerizes you as you watch from a suspension bridge. You can also take an optional hike behind the falls. After another quick trip, we will arrive at another incredible waterfall called El Manto de la Novia, where we will ride a cable car through the Pastaza river canyon.
- In the late afternoon we will arrive in Baños, located right on the slopes of the Tungurahua volcano, which has been active since 1999.
- It has a few eruptions every few months that delights visitors with screens of lava and steam that can be viewed from various vantage points safe in the region.
- Here in Baños you can also visit a spa or other place to enjoy the hot springs in the area.

TREE HOUSE - FREE AFTERNOON IN BAÑOS
- In the morning we will visit El Swing at the End of the World, where the winner of the National Geographic 2014 photo contest took his photo, you will have some time to take the amazing photo with the dazzling landscape in front.
- We will have the afternoon free to enjoy optional activities in this incredible town.

Día 7
CHIMBORAZO VOLCANO
- Early in the morning, we will drive through valleys and agricultural towns to reach the Chimborazo Volcano, the highest mountain in Ecuador with an elevation of 6310 m (20,702 ft) above sea level; whose summit is also the furthest point from the center of the earth on the entire planet.
- On a clear day, the majestic Chimborazo peak dominates the view for many kilometers.
- There will be a short 0.9 km (0.57 mi) hike to reach the 5000 m (16,404 ft) elevation where the glacier begins. On the walk we will see some of the animals that inhabit this volcanic wonderland such as the Andean Condor, face-face, hummingbirds and the shy vicuñas. Once extinct in Ecuador, they have been reintroduced and are now protected; This beautiful animal is related to alpacas and llamas.

DEVIL'S NOSE TRAIN - INCAS RUINS - CUENCA
- After an early breakfast, we will take a panoramic drive to the small town of Alausí.
- Here, we will board the train to the Devil's Nose, where the tracks wind through the countryside in a zigzag formation, creating a travel experience like no other. After the train trip, we will continue our visit to Ingapirca, the most impressive Inca ruins in Ecuador.
- We will spend the afternoon learning about this archaeological site, notable for its unique fusion of Inca and native Cañari architecture, as well as its religious significance. Later, we will head to Cuenca, a UNESCO World Heritage site. known for its colonial architecture.

Día 9
UNESCO CITY BASIN - GUALACEO & CHORDELEG
- Starting in the morning, enjoy a fantastic city tour, visiting the most important buildings. and Cuenca's highlights, such as Plaza Calderón, the New Cathedral, El Mirador Barranco and El Turi.
- In the afternoon visit a famous Panama hat. factory where we will understand the entire process of making this traditional Ecuadorian hat.
- In the afternoon, we will visit the nearby towns of Chordeleg and Gualaceo, the only destinations that can be enjoyed on this tour. Chordeleg is well known for its jewelry, especially its silverware. And Gualaceo is a picturesque market, where locals gather to exchange their products and crafts. Here you can find traditional Macana shawls, woven fabrics with intense colors and folkloric designs.

FREE MORNING - RETURN FLIGHT TO QUITO - DEPARTURE
- You will have this morning free to enjoy the charming city of Cuenca and its surroundings. In the afternoon, you will take a short 45-minute domestic flight back to Quito, where you will connect with your international flight. Today our journey ends.
